Two months have passed since I last sat down to write a blog post, and quite a few things have happened since then.
We started tackling bigger house projects again, we celebrated my sweet husband's 30th birthday--complete with a surprise party surrounded by many of our friends and loved ones--and I started a new job!
I had been feeling like it was time to make a change. While it was sad to leave something I became so comfortable with, and nerve-wracking to transition not only to a new company, but also to a new position, I know this was an answered prayer and a part of God's perfect plan for my life. Now, I am much closer to home, have a better work life balance, and can continue to learn and to grow, both professionally and as an individual.
Since I have more personal time, I have been thinking about how I want to spend my time and what I want to contribute to this space. All reasons and excuses aside, to be honest, I have never been consistent with this space because my heart hasn't been in it. I started this blog years ago simply as a new hobby--a creative outlet to document my life's adventures and blessings. This was before you could easily monetize a blog, and before Instagram was so all-consuming. But, I got sucked into the idea of wanting to be like everyone else, trying to be like everyone else, playing the comparison game, and losing.
After unintentionally stepping back and taking time off from posting this past year, I have had time to think and have been able to re-evaluate what it is I enjoy doing and why.
I enjoy creating. I enjoy being inspired. I enjoy writing. I enjoy capturing moments. I enjoy beautiful music. I enjoy cooking. I enjoy hosting. I enjoy discovering. I enjoy designing. I enjoy writing. I enjoy sharing my faith to bring Him glory. I enjoy not being the center of attention. I enjoy trying, and with that, failing. I enjoy sharing what I've learned, especially if it can help someone else. So that is what I hope to do in this creative space.
Things will start to look a little different around here, but it will be more genuine, and I hope it will grow and continue to be a source of inspiration, community, and fun--both for me and for all of you that take the time to visit.
So thank you.
Thank you for understanding, thank you for reading, and thank you for following along on this little adventure and its many ups and downs!
My brain has been spinning with all of the things I eventually want to share, and have yet to share, like the rest of the design process for our home, more photos, tried and true recipes, things that inspire me, and more! I hope you'll come back and I hope you enjoy these things to come.
