One thing I love about blogging is having the opportunity to share my personal experiences and help others. Whether that be sharing my personal style featuring a new, budget friendly handbag, or sharing about exciting events I have attended in Austin or new places I have been to and enjoyed, or sharing my honest opinions of new products! I am starting a new monthly series where I feature some of my favorite products that I've tried that month across all avenues--from makeup, to skin care, to food products, and more!
Since today is the last official day of summer, I thought I'd kick off the series by sharing some of my favorite products with you that I've used throughout the summer months.
The first product I want to feature is Neutrogena's Hydro Boost Water Gel. I know this isn't necessarily a new product, or is it truly a new product to me. I first tried this gel moisturizer last year during the spring and summer months and was pleasantly surprised with its effectiveness. I used it as a daytime and nighttime moisturizer, and my skin responded to it so well! I love the cool, creamy texture and how it feels like my skin is drinking a tall glass of cool water. Shortly after using it, I noticed the dryness and flakiness of my skin quickly went away. It even soothed my sunburned, sensitive skin after we spent a week at Sanibel island. When I ran out of the first jar, I wanted to try a few other moisturizers, but was less excited with their results. After I used up the other moisturizers I tried, I decided to go back to the Hydro Boost line and was just as pleased with it this time around! I love this moisturizer and am really excited to try some of the new products in the Hydro Boost line, like the hydrating serum, the hydrating concealer, and thehydrating lip shine.
Next is the Rodan + Fields Redefine Multi-Function Eye Cream. I received a sample size of this eye cream from my dear friend and R+F consultant, Amber. I mentioned to her that I was in the market for a good eye cream, and she suggested I try this. This little jar is small but mighty! Its smooth, creamy texture goes on so lightly and absorbs directly into my skin. I have already noticed a significant difference in the reduction of fine lines around the corners of my eyes and the tops of my cheeks. One thing my momma taught me when I was young was to take care of my skin, starting with washing my face every night and moisturizing. Now that I'm in my mid-twenties, I know it's so important to keep your skin healthy and these Rodan + Fields products are clinically proven to do so.
The next product is a sample I received of this Laura Mercier Flawless Skin Infusion de Rose Nourishing Oil. This oil gives your skin that extra boost of hydration when you need it and has a lovely light rose scent. I don't use it everyday, but do use a few drops of this luxe oil when I want to pamper myself and leave me with glowing skin. I just haven't quite figured out if it's better to use before or after my moisturizer.
The next product I have loved this summer is this Yes to Cucumbers Micellar Cleansing Water. I had wanted to try a micellar cleanser for a while, and have previously tried and liked a few products from the natural Yes To brand, so I thought this calming cleanser would be a good fit to try. I'm happy to report that I LOVE IT! Sometimes when I wash my face, I feel like all of my makeup wasn't removed properly. This cleanser quickly and easily removes all of my stubborn makeup at the end of the day, including waterproof mascara. I even noticed that after several uses, my skin's redness started to subside. I love the natural cucumber extract because it soothes my sensitive skin and has such a refreshing scent. This micellar cleanser paired with theHappyface cleansing cloth is a match made in cleansing heaven! This microfiber cloth is so soft, gentle, and effective for removing makeup, and it's machine washable so it can be used over and over.
In June, I was invited to attend Austin based Verb Product's launch party in celebration of their expanded Sea line. The collection began with their best selling Sea Spray, which is formulated with natural sea salts to achieve those perfectly undone beachy waves any time of year, or to enhance your natural waves. I have been looking for a natural product to do just that, and was so excited when I was introduced to Verb Products. Another featured product from this line is their Sea Texture Cream which helps add just the right touch of volume and edgy texture to my lob style. To complete the collection, simply add the Sea Shampoo and Conditioner. I love being able to support local brands and businesses, and even more so that everything in their line is sulfate, paraben, gluten, and cruelty free!
Last but not least are two products new to my beauty routine. First up is the Rodan + Fields Lash Boost enhancement. I began to notice that my eyelashes weren't as long and luscious as they used to be, and felt like they were thinning. After discussing this with my personal R+F consultant, she introduced me to their latest and greatest product, Lash Boost. After you've washed your face, the Lash Boost serum simply glides on like eyeliner, and after consistent use for a few weeks you will notice, longer, fuller, darker lashes. This stuff WORKS, and I can't wait to show y'all my before and after pictures! It may have a high price tag, but it is so worth it. We wash and condition our hair and care of all other parts of our body, so why should our eyes get neglected?
With summer coming to a close, I knew I needed an alternate way to attain that summer glow all year long. After doing some research and obtaining references from one of my favorite influencers (the stunning Taylor Morgan of Little Blonde Book), I was originally shopping for the Laura Mercier Face Illuminator, and was this close to purchasing it when I stumbled upon the Becca Shimmering Skin Perfector in Champagne Pop. I quickly compared the two and realized the Becca highlighter was just as pigmented and glow-y as the Laura Mercier highlighter. While I typically prefer a cream highlighter to achieve this dewy beauty look, this pressed powder is so impressive. Plus, the festive packaging is so cute! While I loved the Laura Mercier product, I couldn't quite bring myself to spend almost $50 on one single product. Now, I can savor the perfect summer glow all year long!
I hope you've enjoyed my review and thoughts on these items, and the first installment of my monthly favorites series! I'd love to hear your thoughts on these products, or if you have any other recommendations for me, please leave them in the comments below! Thank you so much for stopping by!
