I recently heard a song that quickly became a new favorite of mine. Not only was it a beautiful melody sung by a beautiful voice, but the lyrics resonated so deeply with me. That is what I love most about music. It goes,
“Lord I don’t want to rush on ahead
In my own strength, when you’re right here.
I’m not in a hurry
When it comes to your spirit
When it comes to your presence
When it comes to your voice
I’m learning to listen
Just to rest in your nearness
I’m starting to notice
You are speaking..”
A few weekends ago, I had the opportunity to accompany my sweet husband to a trade association conference just outside of Austin at the beautiful Hyatt Lost Pines Resort in Bastrop. We had been to the resort once before, and thoroughly enjoyed ourselves among the fresh air, green pine trees, and the cool lazy river, so we were looking forward to this weekend once again. Some may call it work, but we chose to see it as a little weekend getaway.
It's official. The summer weather has arrived in Austin and while I'm typically not a big dress girl besides for church on Sundays and special occasions, I can't help but be drawn to easy, breezy dresses when the temperatures are approaching triple digits. I guess that's why they call them sundresses!
