It truly is the most wonderful time of the year! As I write this, I am snuggled up on the couch with my Christmas blanket, warm coffee in my cup, our Christmas tree all lit and decorated in the corner of our living room, and watching How the Grinch Stole Christmas.
To spread some holiday cheer, I wanted to share some of my favorite Christmas traditions with y'all!
Decking the halls! Decorating your home is always a fun adventure, but it's even more special at Christmas time.
Picking out our Christmas tree! Growing up, my family and I always had a real Christmas tree, and I remember going with my family to pick it out each year. So, when Ryan and I celebrated our first Christmas together, we decided to keep the tradition going as our own family and go pick out the perfect tree every year.
Picking out our wrapping paper! Every year since we've been married, Ryan and I make a special trip to the store to pick out our wrapping paper for all of our Christmas presents that year, then we wrap all of each other's presents in the paper we chose. No tags necessary!
Christmas lights! Here in Austin, there are several ways to see the beautiful Christmas lights around town, and some of my favorites are the light show at Mozart's Coffee Roasters, driving down 37th street, and visiting Austin's own, spectacular Trail of Lights.
Baking! One of our favorite holiday recipes is this Hot Cocoa Cookie recipe I found a few years ago. It's SO good that I've brought them to several Christmas parties, and have shared the recipe with several of my family members!
Watching ALL the Christmas movies! Some of my personal favorites in our collection are Elf, How the Grinch Stole Christmas, The Santa Clause, Miracle on 34th street, The Holiday, and A Charlie Brown Christmas.
Being comfy and cozy! I love when the cold weather finally rolls in and gives me an opportunity to wear all of my favorite cold weather clothes. This outfit is so comfy and cozy featuring this slouchy dolman tunic from The Mint Julep Boutique! It is soft, comes in tons of color options and has the perfect oversized fit, even for petite frames! I have it in two colors for fall and winter, wine and taupe. I love that it can be dressed up with a vest and riding boots, with a cardigan, statement necklace, and booties, or dressed down with leggings, boot socks, a blanket scarf, and boots. I styled this tunic with one of my favorite pairs of skinny jeans, a plaid scarf, and some warm, fuzzy socks for a relaxed Sunday at home.
P. S. You can find the rest of the collection here, and if you shop through Little Bitty in the City, you don't have to wait until Sunday to score your own slouchy tunic for only $24. That's half off!
Staying home! Of all the Christmas traditions, I love having the perfect excuse to simply stay home and reflect on the true meaning of Christmas, and enjoy the spirit of the holiday with my loved ones surrounding me.
Now, I'm off to get ready for my next Christmas party of the season and continue this holiday cheer!
Little bitty love,
Special thanks to The Mint Julep Boutique for sponsoring this post.
