This has been our second year to visit the pumpkin patch in the fall since we've lived in Austin. I'm not sure exactly how many times it takes for something to become a tradition, but I like to think this is one of our new fall traditions and will be for years to come. Maybe because it's similar to picking out the perfect Christmas tree each year, picking out pumpkins to decorate with around our home really gets me in the fall spirit and ready for the new season.
It's so fun to see all of the different kinds of pumpkins there are in the patch; some we saw this year were quite large, while some could fit in the palm of my hand, some are smooth, while some are lumpy, some are solid, and some are almost striped. My favorites this year were the short, squatty ones and the striped ones. Another obvious fall tradition is finally bringing out and wearing my fall cardigans. This ribbed black duster cardigan from Lovely Mae Boutique is lightweight, breezy, and such a versatile layering piece.
This piece can easily be worn over atank dress for those warmer fall days, and layered over a turtleneck tee andjeans when it gets chillier. This was such an effortless and comfortable look paired with my new Hunter rain boots for our annual stop at the pumpkin patch after church.
I was so happy to be able to keep up our fall tradition this year, with the pumpkins we picked out to decorate our front porch, and even happier that sweater weather is here to stay.
