I don't know about y'all, but it feels like the older I get, the quicker time passes. It seems like just the other day we were celebrating Thanksgiving with family, preparing for our 4th anniversary celebration, putting up our Christmas decor, and now, the holidays have practically come and gone. Before I start making plans for 2018, I want to keep the festive spirit of the holidays going a little bit longer starting with this satin, shimmering pleated midi skirt from Asos!
I found this Missguided skirt from Asos during all of the Black Friday sales, and am so glad I did. I originally purchased it to wear to my office Christmas party, but have already worn it three different times this holiday season! I first wore this exact outfit to my office's holiday party and felt so feminine and festive. I loved the classic red color and the unexpected metallic shimmer for the occasion. My office is fairly casual in the day to day, so it was fun to see everyone all dressed up for a change. Thankfully, the party was indoors, so I didn't have to worry about the cold temperatures outside, but this camel coat I purchased last fall from Shein kept me warm during the transitions. The second time I wore this skirt was to my husband's office Christmas party. This time, I changed the outfit slightly and paired this skirt with a cream cable knit sweater to keep me warmer and slightly more casual. My last outfit featuring this skirt was for my church's Christmas Eve service. This skirt is even perfect for New Year's Eve because of its on-trend silhouette and understated sparkle. If you're looking to make a classy, subtle statement and stand out from the sequin crowd this weekend, I suggest this skirt!
While this skirt is perfect for the holidays, including New Year's Eve, I plan to find at least one other way to wear it during the spring. I could see it paired with a pretty lace trim camisole, or a casual crop top for a fun birthday celebration outfit!
Whatever your plans are this New Year's Eve, I hope you have a safe, happy one! As for me, I look forward to what 2018 has to offer because "I don't know what tomorrow holds, but I know who holds tomorrow."
Little bitty love,
