Jumpsuits have been making a comeback the past few seasons, and while I loved the look of them on other people (especially the long and lean), I wasn't sure how one would look on me. I'm not one to typically dive right in to the latest trends, so I thought I would dip my toes in to the jumpsuit trend with a simple little black jumpsuit.
I found this tie waist racerback jumpsuit while shopping at the Loft outlet several weeks ago. My husband actually picked it up off the Lounge section rack, and when I felt the fabric I knew I had to try it on. I was so surprised by how well it fit me, especially for not being a petite size, and by how flattering the tie waist made it. Ultimately, I was sold because of the fabric--did I mention it has pockets--and versatility of this piece. I could easily see myself wearing it from date night to traveling. It would be perfect for a plane ride! Here, you can see how I've styled it from day to night.
For daytime, I added a pop of color with an open front cardigan tied at the waist, my go-t0 Rifle Paper Co. slip on Keds that I wear with just about everything, my dainty Amanda Deer drop necklace, and straw purse. For night, I left the cardigan behind, put on my favorite straw wedges, added a pair of resin statement earrings (see my other favorites here), and my statement clutch.
This jumpsuit is by far one of the most comfortable new additions to my wardrobe and one of the most functional. I can already see myself wearing it into the Texas fall with a heavier cardigan or utility jacket. After such success with this piece, I may keep watch for the next great jumpsuit!
Little bitty love,
