I am so happy that Austin has finally gotten its first real taste of fall this week. Instead of experiencing daily highs in the 90s, we have been graced with highs in the 70s and lows in the upper 50s.
Sadly, it only lasted two days in true Texas fashion.
In this weird transitional time, when you want to dress seasonally but the thermometer says otherwise, it can make getting dressed for the day very difficult. That's when I always reach for a staple. One of the staples in my wardrobe for every season is a versatile tunic. I came across this Lush tunic from Nordstrom after the Nordstrom Annivesary Sale this year. It was such a great price, and came in so many color options, so I scooped it up in two colors. I chose this light olive color for fall, and a pretty lavender color to add some variety to my wardrobe. I don't have enough of these colors! As you all know, I am a big fan of casual style, so I thought it would be fitting to first style this tunic with a cool (literally) and comfortable pair of boyfriend shorts, suede ankle booties, and simple accessories like my Ray Ban sunglasses and Skagen leather watch.
This is one of the easiest ways to style this tunic, especially for those awkward in-between temperatures we experience this time of year, but I can easily think of several other ways to style it too. For example, it could be styled for the office tucked in to a patterned pencil skirt, for date night with skinny jeans and sexy heels, or for traveling with a cardigan, leggings and and a pair of slip on sneakers. This simple thought process allows me to justify new purchases for my seasonal wardrobe. Plus, I love creating new looks with the pieces I already have in my wardrobe. It forces me to get creative!
I hope y'all enjoyed this casual look, and were able to enjoy this beautiful fall weather we had while it lasted! It's back to shorts weather. Stay tuned as I show y'all another way I styled this transitional wardrobe staple, and shop the look below!
Little bitty love,
