A few weekends ago, my sweet husband and I spent some quality time doing one of our favorite outdoor activities together, hiking! There is nothing like having the beautiful Texas hill country right in your own backyard when you need to get some fresh air and to get away from all of the hustle and bustle for a little while. With the busyness of my day to day life, I often forget how much I enjoy going on hikes and being out in God's beautiful creation until I have the opportunity to do it again. Because it was a chilly, overcast day, I threw on one of my comfy, old tees from Old Navy, my go-to skinny jeans from Nordstrom, my new favorite Clad & Cloth booties, and this adorable faux suede cap from Tobi to go exploring.
If you're in Austin visiting for SXSW and want the full Austin experience, or if you're looking to get away from the SXSW crowds this weekend, I highly recommend visiting one of Austin's many hiking trails for some peace and perspective. Some of our favorite places to hike are the Bull Creek Greenbelt, the Wild Basin Wilderness Preserve, the overlook at Pennybacker bridge (A.K.A. the 360 overlook), and, of course, the Barton Creek Greenbelt, especially after a good rain when it's warm and sunny and you can dip your toes into the cool waters of the creek. After a full day of hiking, I would also suggest treating yourself to some delicious ice cream from one of my favorite local spots, Lick!
What are your favorite weekend activities? Do you have any suggestions for other outdoor activities in Austin?
Thanks for stopping by, and I hope y'all have a great weekend! I will be gearing up for all of the SXSW festivities!
